On the 23rd February last, DeafHear Killarney hosted a Healthy Ear Check Day, which included the introduction of the new Auracare Hearing Aid Cleaning Machine.

Paula Donohoe, Director of Services opened the health Ear Check Day by welcoming all who came and gave them an overview of the services provided by DeafHear.ie

Sally Harvest gave a thorough demonstration of how the Auracare Cleaning machine works and this proved quite fascinating with many hearing aids being cleaned on the day. The money to purchase the Auracare machine was donated from the Killarney Parish who chose DeafHear as one of their three charities to benefit from the Christmas mass collections.

Audiologist Teresa O'Rourke gave a hearing aid test demonstration and a general presentation on the new Hearing Care Service that is provided from the Killarney office each Wednesday.

Shane Hamilton, Maura O'Leary and Angela Michelle demonstrated the new Remote Interpreting Service and the guests were amazed at how the remote interpreting works and how easy and clear it was to use. The day was highly successful for all who came.
