Irish Sign Language Presenters for News for the Deaf.

RTÉ has recently advertised positions for Irish Sign Language (ISL) presenters for News for the Deaf. Applications must be made by July 1st. All of the details are below. Click on the video to view the details in ISL.

 

 

RTÉ is Ireland’s national public service media organisation. RTÉ provides comprehensive, independent and impartial news and current affairs programming across multiple platforms on television, radio, online and on mobile devices.

RTÉ News and Current Affairs provides a daily bulletin, News for the Deaf and wishes to create a panel of Irish Sign Language Presenters to provide this service.

Irish Sign Language Presenters should meet the following criteria:

  • S/He is required to translate News for the Deaf through Irish Sign Language
  • Must have good clear signing
  • Ability to confidently translate English into Irish Sign Language
  • Good television presence and appearance
  • Reliable
  • Flexibility in terms of their availability – i.e. must be available to provide this service late afternoon and at weekends.

Selection will be by audition, likely to be held in July/August.
