Are you a young Deaf or Hard of Hearing student aged 15–17 and interested in sailing? If so, this could be the opportunity of a lifetime to sail on a Tall Ship around the Irish Sea. The voyage will begin on the 30th June and last until July 6th 2018.
No experience necessary!

Being part of a sailing crew enables everyone to make new friends and learn new skills. You don’t have to have any experience to take part. Trainee sailors will learn a range of new skills including raising and lowering the sails, compass work and route planning, and tying knots for keeping the ship tidy and safe.
The Voyage
This is the first Sail Training Ireland Voyage for Deaf teenagers. They will sail on the Tall Ship ‘Pelican’, explore the Irish Sea, and call to a number of ports in Ireland and the UK.
Trainee sailors will cook, eat and sleep on the ship, and they will be accompanied by communicators skilled in ISL and BSL.

How to get involved
The cost of the voyage is €600, but there are bursaries available to reduce the cost to €450. Further information is available be emailing sindyoffer@sailtrainingireland.com or calling 01–8168866.
Application forms and further information are available below,
and those interested should apply as soon as possible.
Applications close at the end of April.
