Gardening in the rain!

DeafHear

March was an amazing warm and sunny month this year and yet the one day that our Deaf Group planned for our debut attempt at gardening, it rained! But we persevered thanks to Mary Fell and her next door neighbour Pat who arrived with a range of gardening implements that were frightening!

So down to work we got and low and behold some two hours later we had cleared away all the overgrown plants and trees in front of the Respite Centre here in Killarney.

Mary Fell is a keen gardener and has won awards for her own garden. Last year Killarney won the Tidy Towns competition and Mary felt that we needed to live up to that standard by transforming our little garden into one to be proud of. So our plan is to set beautiful plants and hopefully care for our little garden in glorious sunshine!

The Kerry Deaf Group has taken this on as their project under the experienced guidance of Mary Fell who is a very active member of the group. We would like to thank her very much for her enthusiasm and support.
