Text Topups Now Available!

Good news for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people who use pay–as–you–go phones!

If you are a pay–as–you–go mobile phone user with Vodaphone or Meteor, you can now topup your credit by text!
This means that if you are Deaf or Hard of Hearing you no longer need to ask someone to topup for you!

DeafHear requested text accessible topups through ComReg, who regulate the telecommunications sector.
Vodaphone and Meteor are the first companies to provide this service.

This is a small step in making access to telecommunications more equitable to everybody.
Equitable access for everyone to telecommunication services is required under European law.

Topping-up by text is slightly different with each service provider.

Here are the instructions:

Meteor customers:

Topup by texting the voucher number to 50103.

Vodaphone customers:

Topup by texting Topup:<space><voucher number> to 50191
Example: Topup: 8501804498321

And of course the topup texts are free of charge!
