Kerry goes to Dublin!

In the early summer months we contacted the CIDP to see if it would be possible to use their house that is sited in the Deaf Village as it would be empty over this period. Thanks to their generosity we were able to have free accommodation for our groups visits to Dublin.

In July Killarney Women’s Group took a trip to Dublin for a few days, to take in the sights of the city and enjoy a break. First stop on landing was to visit the Leprechauns Museum and then on to do some shopping. Everyone really enjoyed spending time in the Deaf Village, swimming, meeting friends and having lunch in Café Harmony. Staying in the CIDP house together meant that we could all cook and eat dinner together in the evenings, something we all really cherished.

In August it was the turn of the Men’s Group to head for the city. One of the highlights was our visit to Dublin Zoo – a great day! Swimming and hanging out in Café Harmony proved to be just as popular. Again we really enjoyed the use of the CIDP house which enabled us to have some great home cooked meals and a nice chance to wind down after our busy days.
