International Ear Care Day 2014 in Killarney
On 3rd march – to mark International Ear Care Day – we invited hearing aid users from around the county to call in to our Drop–In Morning.
Throughout the morning we met with a large number of clients who called in for coffee, a chat, and to meet with staff. We were able to clean and check their hearing aids, changing tubes, filters and batteries. The morning gave clients the chance to discuss any difficulties they might be experiencing with hearing loss.
We also had a short presentation on equipment available to clients, which might assist them with their hearing loss. Clients were able to ask questions about specific issues they were experiencing and have the opportunity to try hands on some of the equipment we have in the office.
The morning gave us a great opportunity to highlight to clients some of the other supports and services we provide, as well as information on entitlements and benefits.
