Killarney Presentation on Remote Interpreting Service
On Friday 21 February 2014 Killarney played host to SLIS staff member Margaret O’Connor who travelled down to Kerry to deliver a presentation on IRIS – the remote interpreting service. Margaret was joined by April Mooney who interpreted for the morning.
The power point presentation was really informative and there was a great Questions and Answers session also. Margaret and April role played how a client might make use of the service by communicating live with staff in the Dublin office.
Clients then had the opportunity to try for themselves how the service worked by having a conversation with staff in the Dublin office.
Feedback from clients who attended the morning was very positive and staff in the Killarney office are currently setting up a connection with SLIS so that clients can call to office and access IRIS support independently.
Many thanks to Margaret and April for a great morning.
