Assistive Technology
Deaftech is DeafHear’s specialist assistive technology service for Deaf and
Hard of Hearing people.
Assistive technology can benefit Deaf and Hard of Hearing people greatly in their day-to-day lives by overcoming barriers caused by hearing loss. For example, Deaftech provides a variety of assistive technology such as vibrating alarm clocks, TV listening devices, flashing doorbells and personal communication devices that assist people with hearing loss in daily living. Safety equipment such as fire and emergency alarms and technology designed for the workplace are also available. Our DeafTech service is available in each of our national network of Resource Centres.
