Deaftech is DeafHear’s specialist assistive technology service for Deaf and
Hard of Hearing people.
Assistive technology can benefit Deaf and Hard of Hearing people greatly in their day-to-day lives by overcoming barriers caused by hearing loss. For example, Deaftech provides a variety of assistive technology such as vibrating alarm clocks, TV listening devices, flashing doorbells and personal communication devices that assist people with hearing loss in daily living. Safety equipment such as fire and emergency alarms and technology designed for the workplace are also available. Our DeafTech service is available in each of our national network of Resource Centres.
For more information on the range of products available call in to your local DeafHear Resource Centre or visit our online shop. Deaftech can supply certain health and safety equipment free to those eligible under HSE schemes. Please contact your local DeafHear Resource Centre for more information.
Deaftech also provides a range of helpful factsheets, available on our Factsheets page, with useful descriptions of assistive technology available.
